As we head towards the end of May, the waters around the Scottish coastline are warming and there is a noticeable increase in activity. Lobster and brown crab are once more starting to feed after the cold Winter months and catches are slowly increasing.

As a result, we are starting to organise 2 shipments per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to the Far East and 3 shipments per week to European destinations (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Blue lobster prices are also starting to fall and this trend will continue through to August. Brown crab prices are holding at the moment, driven by a strong demand in China.

Langoustines, both in the live and fresh sector, are currently experiencing a downturn in catches. This situation is however temporary and within the next 15 days, we should see a steady increase in supply through to the end of August.
